A few words about carbon fiber:
The carbon fiber produced by the controlled pyrolysis of polyacrylonitrile and other organic polymers, is composed almost entirely of elongated structures similar chemically to the carbon graphite.
Their highly organized structure gives them a high mechanical strength, and the fact that they consist almost entirely of graphite means that they are infusible, and chemically resistant. Carbonized fiber is seven times lighter and also six times stronger than steel.
